Help regarding development/scripting, troubleshooting or just general gameplay -- anything that hasn't already been answered in the Wiki or pinned FAQs.
the not enough colons in file means the save game was not properly saved (exported). There exists most probably two versions of your save game, one that is incomplete (and which is causing you problems) and one that works.
Just chiming in to say that I also am experiencing this bug on Vista. The game runs fine (aside from the occasional already reported crash bugs), but as soon as a player gets saved, data.txt is blanked and cannot be loaded again.
