The main reason we didn't do it earlier was because half of the member base were 10 years old...

Maybe you forgot to update the firmware, or maybe there's a watch battery in it that failed.

Why would a clock need firmware?

1. I have no idea why a clock would need updated firmware, I'm just guessing.
2. Bad reception shouldn't cause it to stop keeping time. We have an atomic clock here, and it's only off when DST takes/stops taking effect.

Thing is, it never stopped keeping time, it just set itself to be 39 hours - 52 years ahead via its reception
