I don't like watching anime, for some reason 99% of all animes I've watched, after finishing, I've realized how retarded they were. Although Dragonball was awesome, even if the manga is over 9000 times better. :P

PS: My mouse is broken. Almost every time I click something, it takes it as a double click or whatever. Annoying as hell...

Sounds like you only watched shonen anime so far... while I am not much of an otaku either (yet), I know that this is only a small fraction of the genre.

Yeah, watch Seinen anime instead. Seinen are directed at an adult audience, and thus usually have a much more serious and logical story, as well as a cast that is not thoroughly underage.

Rule of thumb: if it's an anime aimed at kids, and if it's not One Piece, [that one show where they raced mechs, something about "immortal grand prix"], or BoBoBo Bo BoBoBo, it may not be very good.

On the other hand, Maxaxle, being a "regular" Shonen/Shoujo anime doesn't automatically make it bad, nor are the three ones you listed necessarily good ones. Personally, I could never get into One Piece, regardless of how much hype it gets.
In general, different anime are targeted at different audiences. Asking what genres other people would describe an anime as often helps decide which ones you may want to watch, but in the end all you can do is actually check them out. Ones that are widely considered awesome may turn out not to appeal to you, while you might like an anime that only few other people like.
That's one of the reasons why so many different animes exist: to please a wide audience.

BoBoBo Bo BoBoBo really is awesome though.

Yeah, he has a point. One Piece isn't bad, but I can't be bothered with over 450 episodes and a few movies, yeah.

Clonk is right, though, seinen anime kick ass. Cowboy Bebop and Death Note are in this category. You may also put Higurashi and Umineko in there.

Death Note is theoretically a shonen anime, believe it or not.

There is some debate between the two. Despite the fanserviceyness and yaoi fangirls I like to think that since it's all about the Xanatos Gambits and plot/counterplot stuff it qualifies for seinen.

Unrelated, an old quote:
PurpleSquerkle wrote:Agent of Dread [if that is your real name]: "So the other day I was on the Egoboo forums, and PurpleSquerkle was all like, 'you can scream at the resonant frequency of a bullet.' And I'm all, 'Huh? But that was a SUPERSONIC scream!'"
People in AoD's class: "..."
Somebody: "NERD!"
Everybody else: "Yeah. Nerd."

Super sonic is above the speed of sound. A bullet travels faster than sound. You can tell by how the sound of the impact always comes about a second later than the impact itself.

Fuck yeah Aerodynamics.

Installed Ubununutu 11.04 on my workcomp. Have to go, though, so I haven't been able to mess around with it.

It's very efficient and fast, but finding a practical use for it is hard. :)
