?

For some reason, on my cpu, the latest binary always makes the game run at 1 fps...

Any module? If there is a option for HIGH_QUALITY_SOUND in setup.txt, try disabling it (or in the sound menu).

Do the game menu run slow as well?

Yeah, the game menu also runs slowly, except for the module selection screen.

Okay, this is it. I'm officially annoyed. I've finally got a new GFX card, updated my copy of Egoboo to r722 and binary #32 and used the setup.txt from the SVN, and still can't get the game to run properly. To the contrary, it's now even worse!

Additionally, the menu now runs at pretty exactly 0 FPS. I couldn't even get to the module selection screen that way, it simply wasn't possible.

The same thing happens to me when use binary 32, it runs at 0-1 fps. I'm pretty sure its the binary, not the gfx card.

Yay new GFX card :)

Okay let's begin from step 1.
- I have a binary I compiled 1 minute ago here that you might try out (compiled from r722) . That binary runs fine on my PC. I use a NVIDIA card.
Binary download: http://www.2shared.com/file/7414979/fe9 ... boo2x.html
- If that didn't make any difference and what Aleco above says is correct, try out the latest stable release and see if that one runs properly.

The stable release runs very well for me. I'll try the binary.

The new binary didn't change a thing.

The stable release (2.7.4), however, worked fine, with good graphics and a fine FPS rate (around 40-ish). It felt damn good to finally be able to finish the adventurer starter again.

Huh... I wonder why the new binaries don't work. Is anyone else having trouble with the windows binaries for the SVN?

What about the penguinflyers, how does the latest revision work for you?

I updated SVN Egoboo repository and used this exe and it works just fine.

You people can't read apparently, he's using Microsoft's OpenGL based on 1.1 using software rendering...

Clonkinator: what gfx card is it?

EDIT:
Works fine with me, ~30 FPS in Zippy, 20 FPS in Bishopia.
Using ATI Radeon 9550 Pro with Mesa 7.4 and DRI R300 20060815, OpenGL version 1.3 (some of 1.4 and 1.5)

Will test now
Lol you are right. I missed that.

Well I guess there is no wonder that he is having problems then. I wonder why it uses a different version of OpenGL than when he is running the stable release. Was it after 2.7.4 that birdsey implemented the debugging routines on all the OpenGL functions? There might be a connection there.

ATI Radeon 9600.

@Zefz: If it basically should run aside from the game using the wrong version of OpenGL, is there any way to get it to run with the correct version?

It was after 2.7.3 but before 2.7.4, test results are above
