Re: SPAM
I don't like watching anime, for some reason 99% of all animes I've watched, after finishing, I've realized how retarded they were. Although Dragonball was awesome, even if the manga is over 9000 times better.

Yeah, watch Seinen anime instead. Seinen are directed at an adult audience, and thus usually have a much more serious and logical story, as well as a cast that is not thoroughly underage.

Re: SPAM
Rule of thumb: if it's an anime aimed at kids, and if it's not One Piece, [that one show where they raced mechs, something about "immortal grand prix"], or BoBoBo Bo BoBoBo, it may not be very good.

Re: SPAM
On the other hand, Maxaxle, being a "regular" Shonen/Shoujo anime doesn't automatically make it bad, nor are the three ones you listed necessarily good ones. Personally, I could never get into One Piece, regardless of how much hype it gets.
In general, different anime are targeted at different audiences. Asking what genres other people would describe an anime as often helps decide which ones you may want to watch, but in the end all you can do is actually check them out. Ones that are widely considered awesome may turn out not to appeal to you, while you might like an anime that only few other people like.
That's one of the reasons why so many different animes exist: to please a wide audience.

Yeah, he has a point. One Piece isn't bad, but I can't be bothered with over 450 episodes and a few movies, yeah.
Clonk is right, though, seinen anime kick ass. Cowboy Bebop and Death Note are in this category. You may also put Higurashi and Umineko in there.

Re: SPAM
There is some debate between the two. Despite the fanserviceyness and yaoi fangirls I like to think that since it's all about the Xanatos Gambits and plot/counterplot stuff it qualifies for seinen.

Installed Ubununutu 11.04 on my workcomp. Have to go, though, so I haven't been able to mess around with it.

Re: SPAM
It's very efficient and fast, but finding a practical use for it is hard.
