Negatori Font included in Egoboo is not compatible with GPL
Negatori font license says "This font may be freely distributed and is free for all non-commercial uses."
It violates Section 10 of GPL v3 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html
You may not impose any further restrictions on the exercise of the rights granted or affirmed under this License.
Negatori font adds restriction to entire package (non commercial use only).
Please consider replacing it with GPL compatible font.
This is reported in debian at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=590979
Thanking You
Arnav.

Thanks for letting us know Arnav. Seems we have to find a new font to fit into Egoboo. This will probably change the interface look of Egoboo pretty much
[edit]
I have replaced Negatori with the GPL compitable Bo Chen font -> http://www.dafont.com/bo-chen.d2701

I made a font which maybe could be used for Egoboo, but I don't know. It only has uppercase letters, and it sucks, but well. I tried to be helpful.

Photoshop for the images and FontCreator to make it a font.octagon wrote:I find it actually quite nice... It seems a bit like an Arialization (like Arial, which is an Arialization of Helvetica) of Negatori, though.
If it had lowercase, it could be a replacement... With which program did you create that?
I'm WAY too bored and lazy to make lowercase, as making those was horrible pain for my wrist. I don't know why, but making fonts, for some reason, is horribly much harder for me than making something else.

No, that is not what I meant.Or voted upon from a selection of other, similar or better fonts?
There are major problems with license compatibility between available font licenses and GPL v3. Likely any font we choose would be "incompatible" in the same way as Negatori, which is "This font may be freely distributed and is free for all non-commercial uses".
The only easy solution would be to have someone from our community create a font to the project under GPL.
Negatori, after all, was an extremely simple font.
