Inkscape Tutorials

Post by freegamer »

A nice collection of tutorials related to Inkscape (out of the glare of the "discussion thread" - please post Inkscape related love and hate and ambivolence over there!)

Making cool looking pacman baddies [video]:

About: shows off some nice tips that would apply to the kind of style used to draw Egoboo characters, especially with the shading and rapid creation of shapes starting from circles

Creating a cartoon dragon [video]:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRz5zRR-tzo
About: shows off how to create shapes from scratch by using the node tool, to create a basic cartoon character with nothing more than a bit of imagination.

Creating a simple axe:
http://kalaalog.com/2007/09/02/how-to-c ... rt-of-axe/
About: shows how to use basic shapes to create non-standard shapes using the cut-out tools, and use shading as well.

Don't forget that you don't have to start with a blank sheet. Tracing over scanned hand drawn pictures like this with this pirate (Illustrator tutorial but technique applies to Inkscape) can be a great way to turn your best pictures into professional looking images.

Ever needed a blank image to serve as a placeholder or filler in your web design layout? This tutorial will show you an easy way to create a blank gif, jpg or png image using the open source vector graphics application Inkscape.

Uh, yeah.
Seems like finding random threads and posting random crap related to words in the topic...?

It seems like the phishing link was missing from the bot post. This poster must be a reject from hacking school.

Please tell me: How do you create a blind gif? I don't know how to. It always was a mystery for me. Share the wisdom of empty 1x1 gifs with me!!
