Lol, all of our characters are completely incapable of using healing spells. Should be fun.

Not quite. I explicitely made an exception that allows Yumiko to at least learn basic HP recovery spells. :teach:

Dead weight? She certainly can't compare to your characters in terms of raw damage output, but she's supposed to be more of an allround character with some focus on support abilities as well as not taking damage.
Whether I debuff enemies so that they deal less damage or buff ourselves so that we take less damage, the result is the same. :teach:
In fact, depending on how things turn out, I may sacrifice some more FOR for more DEX. She isn't supposed to take damage, so I might as well make her deal more damage.

I was going to give her +5 stat points to distribute at first (as part of her traits), but I doubt that'd be balanced.
Of course, if AoD is fine with it, I'll happily take them!

EDIT: I just now noticed that Tainted Blood actually is almost entirely negative. Oops.

That's the thing, though - she doesn't really have enough points in anything to perform that well. She doesn't have enough strength or dexterity to effectively deal melee or ranged damage, and she doesn't have enough agility to avoid enough hits (even with the ability) or endurance to take hits. Yeah, she's good against melee if she flies, but only if she cripples herself against ranged attackers. She's specialized in debuffing people, but she doesn't actually have the intelligence to capitalize on it.

That said, she's got a nice combination of abilities, and with a few she could be pretty useful, but her blend of stats makes her poor for using her abilities. I could definitely see her being more useful with an initial boost to stats, although those traits really don't seem bad enough to warrant a free +5 to stats.

Also, I just realized that your character is susceptible to fire damage.

Not necessarily. As long as I hit, I'm golden. INT affects the accuracy and duration of spells, which are the two most important factors to debuffs and status ailments. I only have two MP, but that's what Soul Drain is for.

brb, editing Tainted Blood to be less sucky.

EDIT: Increased the negative effects of Tainted Blood and added the +5 stat point thingie. If AoD deems it too broken, I can still find something else.

I don't have a "lol I can take 9001 damage and still have 1 HP left" ability this time, and I don't really feel like getting OHKO'd, so leave me alone. :<

Neither of your traits are broken, so take them for 00 AP each. All they mean is more work. :I

Hmm. I'm thinking of making "Synergy" abilities like Hood had, that require the party member to be conscious to use them.

I have a couple already:
Angel of Carnage (Warden) - When Yumiko is airbone, and injured to any degree, Veles shares half of Warmachine's healing with her.

Firebrand (Swordmaster) [1/1] - A sword technique that causes the victim to lose their minor action and take 150% damage from fire. This effect lasts for three turns.
If the target is unaware of Veles' presence, they will take 200% damage from fire instead of 150%, and additionally, immediately catch aflame as from Mulok's Ignite ability (damage based on his weakest known fire spell).

Btw, all of Veles' Swordmaster techniques have an alternate, stronger effect if they are used as sneak attacks. I figured it would be a more interesting way to implement the "rogue" stuff, make it more awesome by providing many kinds of different "backstabs" Veles could perform, but also limit it somewhat, at the same time.

Angel of Carnage would be 10 AP, and it's got an awesome name. :P

@Ditto: You aren't meant to give yourself spells lol
Battlemage is 10AP.
Blackheart is PnP +20 AP.
Volley is 40 AP for 2 uses, 60 for 3.
Focus is 20 AP.
Ignite is 20 AP, assuming that it only ignites when the spell hits.
Impact:
15 AP/25 AP for 25%/50%.
10/15/20 AP for +1/+2/+3.

Keep your cloak you weren't meant to suggest, but make the staff 1d4 [2h].

@Shade:
Quick Strike is 30 AP.
Finesse is 40 AP.
Caution is 10/15/20/25 AP for +1/+2/+3/+4.
Soul Drain is 20 AP.
I've done your traits. :P

As a weapon, take a steel halberd [1d8, 2h], and a leather cloak [2 AC] for armour.

I think I'll go ahead with the synergy thing. I planned one ability in each aspect for both characters now (total of six). Let's see if I end up picking them up.

I'll definitely grab Angel or Carnage a bit into the game since it's cheap (and indeed awesomely named if I do say so myself). ^^

Btw you didn't say how much AP for Firebrand.
