Agent of Dread wrote:Well it sort of makes sense, for example if you have a giant battleaxe, and it's heavy, so it's hard to cleave something with it, but when you do, it's quite likely you'll hit pretty damn hard?
Yes, I guess it makes sense from realism's point of view. However, I was more concerned about the reasonability of this mechanic gameplay-wise.
Agent of Dread wrote:With the scenario you specified, though, I'd probably not pay the crit if it wouldn't crit if the crit was nine or something.
So, are you going to always leave a 1% minimum chance of failure for something to happen? For example, an RN of 100 will always miss, an RN that just barely hits will never crit, etc.?

Just wondering.

Jörn would have had an attack. Grim Growl is a minor action. Please correct this.
Also, it would be nice if you would post how many HP the enemy lost.
Example:
Gantua | ??-11/?? HP | ??/?? MP

Also, I just noticed that LUK adds 2 and not 1 points of CRT. So Jörn has 30 Crt.

Well you're probably right, but I really don't know any other way to pay crits without making them extremely rare or extremely easy... I'd be happy for you to suggest a system if you want to gain smarm again or something. :P
@Octy: Yeah, but the post didn't really specify anything of an attack, so I figured...

I intended to use normal attack+Grim Growl. Sorry for not pointing it out.

I think it would be good if we would write the exact things we use below our post in red color... okay?

If they aren't perfectly clear, like a mention by name or anything, that would be appreciated, yeah. I'll write in your attack now.

Well, as far as I'm aware, the system we used to use up to this point worked well enough. That system was to roll another RN for the crit check after you've determined a successful hit. So for example, if you hit with 80 Hit and have 30 Crt, you roll a second RN (from 1 to 100). If it is 31 or higher, it's a normal hit. If it's 30 or lower, it is a critical hit.
In actual percentages, that would be 30% of 80%, or in other words, 24%.
In my opinion, that system works well - it is just a matter of adjusting obtainable crit rates to your liking. If you want critical hits to be common, make it easy to get 30+ Crt or something. If you want them to be not as common, do the opposite, logically.
Just as before, this is just a proposal. I'm not trying to interfere with your RPG if you don't want me to.

That does make a lot of sense, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll use that from here on out, thanks.

How about XP?

A shame that Jörn made himself so useless. Missing every turn sucks. D:

Lol, sorry about that. Will add it next post.

And yeah, those were some unlucky rolls (although the first really should've hit. If I had done everything in one post without the edits I would've probably not missed it...)

Can you do my healing spell already? We don't need others to do that.

Lazy = post when everyone posts. It's not like it's going to change anything.

Hit rolls work like this: Attacker Hit - Enemy Avd Vs. random number (1-100). If it's a hit, an extra random number is rolled. If the number is within 0-(Attacker Crt), it crits and does 1-10 extra damage or something.
