If he's actually going to contribute something... even the smallest thing, that will already put him above you on the usefulness list.

Uhm...Crap.

When a person joins they are already higher than me on the usefulness list.

I'm afraid it won't work, a series of many unlikely conditions must first be met before he is possible to kill, such as beheading him, impaling his heart with a wooden stake, shooting a silver bullet through his skull, etc. etc. etc.

Maxaxle wrote:I think there should be a few more endings; the G'nome one would be asking/demanding a material possession (maybe), the Soldier one could be either asking for a higher rank or having it bestowed, the Zombi one would probably end with eaten brains (), the Elf one I have no idea, the Healer/Paladin ones would be heal-the-king-and-get-out, Inventor would be more like, "All right! Would you happen to have anything useful on you to get us out of here and to Bishopia?", and the Adventurer would probably be something like, "Let's get out of here!".

That's just what I was thinking.
Exactly that for the soldier, too. :o

But I came up with stuff so that the player would not actually have to speak (we can't really record more voices for the original characters...).

Thus:

Here is a picture of Lord Bishop; maybe looking at him will give you a good idea of what he should sound like:
Image
And if you're feeling especially ambitious, here is a rather long script:

Adventurer ending:
"So you're the great hero who has come to rescue me?"
"I must admit you don't much look the part."
"But how can I complain?"
"Bishopia is forever in your debt."
"Now let's get out of this miserable pit."

Wizard ending:
"You must be powerful indeed to have overcome the challenges put before you."
"You have my sincerest thanks."
"Now, enough standing around. We should get out of here."

Soldier ending:
"Thank you for rescuing me."
"You have proven yourself to be more skilled in combat than any other I have ever met."
"When we return, what do you think about being my new personal bodyguard?"

Healer ending:
"You have triumphed over impossible odds to save me."
"I know that you Healers aren't seekers of glory, but you should be proud of what you have done for Bishopia."
"Let's get home; I hate this place."

Elf ending:
"Many thanks to you, good Elf."
"You have brought great honor to your people."
"Your name will surely be remembered by history."

G'nome ending:
"Words cannot express the thanks you deserve."
"You have done a great service to your nation and your kin."
"But let's be off now. I don't want to spend another minute in this infernal hole."

Paladin ending:
"You must be an incredibly determined man to have come this far."
"And now your quest is at an end."
"Bishopia will never forget what you have risked to save her king."
"And now we must return. It has been a long time since I have seen the glorious light of the sun..."

Archaeologist ending:
"Thank you for rescuing me!"
"When we go back home, you will surely be hailed as a hero."
"And of course, you will be richly rewarded as well!"

Rogue ending:
"Hmm? I think I know you from somewhere..."
"Hang on! What are you doing?!"
"It is immensely dishonorable to strike a man while he is helpless!"
"Are you insane? Do you seek to ruin a nation just to make good on your petty vow for revenge?"
"...You truly are... a fool..."

Zombi ending:
"Erm... thanks..."
"Let's, ah... Let's be going, now...."

If you're feeling a little more ambitious beyond that, I had the idea once to make a "monarch" class, so you can play as Lord Bishop. Thus, it would be nice to have "ouch" sounds and the like, as well as:
"There's so much to be done. I don't have time for this." (idle)
"Even the king's pockets aren't that deep." (full inventory)
"Hey! What was that?!" (attacked by friendly)
"...All... is lost..." (death)

...Those are my ideas, anyway. I think they're pretty good.
