It seems that they just register, post, and leave without coming back.

AND I HAVE A BETTER IDEA!

Everyone report potential spambots to me. I will be mean to them. :)
And if you are accidentally have been meaned by me, please also tell me :(

Done being mean to Maxle's spambot reports.

These have rather spambot-ish names. Also, has already proven to be a spambot.

Use a noun. In this case, a username.

These likely are spambots:
do58nalds
don99fowler
freestyper87
artbaker/art9baker (double registration and profile links say so)
peterbrowns
Edu78car
aldaonal2
joeler3
ley99nard
tina51samson
hop77kins
kelly994
tracyk859
rachely476
nancyd589
nancyd589
harrietdod34
bursitis00
Sorry if I falsely accused any non-spambots. I derived it from typical name pattern and website link. I might have missed many spambots, though.

Despite the enigmatic name, confused606791163 has kind of proven to be no spambot.

By the way: How about an additional checkbox "Are you a bot?"?
It might keep spambots out, because it's more typical to have a checkbox "Are you human/alive/a non-bot/..." and therefore, many bots are conditioned to automatically check such boxes, which in this case triggers the trap.

That'd be great, because something like 80% are (spam)bots.

It should be phrased so that it includes the word "human", such as "Are you a bot and not a human?".

EDIT: Someone please do a bot-check on Blob. I don't want to risk my computer by going to a strange site.

So don't? You can always paste a link in Google and see what it is.
Blob's site is a protfolio of his work.
