It Can Waver And Fight (Tales of Symphonia, NGC)
The theme to the first phase of the final boss of the game. I especially like the distorted heavenly feeling it gives you; it very well emphasizes how wrong the Big Bad's idea of justice is. And it's just epic in general. Too bad that he's so lame that I actually had Lloyd solo him by accident. On mania mode. :P

Elite Four (Pokémon R/S/E, GBA)
If I'm not mistaken, the third generation of Pokémon games is the only one so far to have its very own Elite Four battle theme - one that is not just an altered version of the gym leader battle theme. Pretty epic.
I'm still annoyed by the fact that when you first fight them, without level grinding for hours beforehand, their Pokémon are all like 20 levels stronger than yours lol

Final Battle (Paper Mario, N64)
The Paper Mario series is known to have very good music, but this one really tops it off. It's the theme to the last phase of the final battle against Bowser, who can make himself invincible at will. I especially like how urgent this one sounds; it really emphasizes the importance of this battle, but also how terrifying your enemy actually is.

L's Theme would be an awesome addition to the Iji soundtrack.

I mainly meant A, though both are awesome.

Why didn't anyone mention Mr. Explorer yet?

I hope anime soundtracks count here, because the entire Death Note soundtrack is made of awesome.
Particulaly Anger, Dirge, L's Theme B, Law of Silopisy (or something like that...). Most of these have awesome basslines. :P

I don't use the word 'epic' a lot, so you better believe it means something when I say I'm posting two epic metal remixes:

Metroid Metal - Corruption Theme / Bryyo
OC Remix - The Passing of the Blue Crown

¶ The Doom games had a lot of good music. The tone changed in Doom 64, but it is still well made. It had many ambient, atmosphæric soundtracks during the levels, which worked quite well both during and after combat.

¶ My favourite would be track 17. It had an interesting mixture of instruments. Unlike those other tracks, #17 had a ‘pessimistic’ feel to it, which was unexpected with the creepy, ambient music that præceded it.

¶ It is good to not de‐mean the usage of such words.

I do, but I do a lot of epic stuff so when I use 'epic' it means epic even if I say it ten times a day. :D

Bump for great justice!

Mega Man OST: Hideous box art meets catchy chiptunes.
Megaman 1 GBA Cut Man stage theme.
Megaman 1 GBA Elec Man stage theme.
Megaman 4 Bright Man stage theme

More La Mulana.
Fearless Challenger - Guidance Gate theme. Adventurous and happy-go-lucky. Lemeza confidently explores the Guidance Gate, oblivious to all the secrets and challenges that are yet to await him...
Grand History - Giants' Mausoleum theme. You found this place. Read the story of the Giants so it won't be forgotten.
Giant's Rage - Sakit boss theme. That statue moves, and it's rather pissed off.
Curse of Iron Pie Iron Pipe - Spring at the Sky theme. Blatantly inspired by some obscure MSX game. Let's use that platform to -- AAH! SURPRISE FISH!
Mu - Chamber of Extinction theme. Classy, confusing and mysterious. After you finally managed to turn the lights on, you are stumbling through a strange place which seems like ...something... happened here...
Ancient Machine - Palenque boss theme. where did that spaceship come from am i in one of those stupid shmups i better dodge that LAZOR!
Wonder of the Wonder - Confusion Gate theme. Where am I? They're mocking me! Fear. I feel things I can't see, and see things I can't feel. I cannot trust the real things. I have to trust those things that don't exist. Blood. Do I really have to do this? Am I?
Death Game - Dimensional Corridor theme. You cannot leave, they're many, and you have to kill them. All of them.
Awaking - Final dungeon theme. The main theme made epic. I don't know whether I should do this, but I am the only one who can, and I've come this far... The transformation is complete.
Take me to the Sky, my Children - alternate final boss theme, possibly for a golden ending or something. How can anyone dislike this?
"It descended to this land.
It came from the sky.
Alone in this world, an immobile body.

Go back, go back to the sky.
I want to return, I want to return to the sky.

My children, help me!
My children, return me to the sky!
That is the reason you were born!"

Megabump of epicness.
The Umineko visual novels (and by extension, the anime - that was at least one thing they did right, borrowing straight from the novels) have a great soundtrack.

Most music from The Nameless Mod [for Deus Ex 1] is pretty awesome. Too much of it to list, so here's a link to a search for "The Nameless Mod Music": http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... music&aq=f

May I add the entire Bastion soundtrack to this list. Pale Watchers is probably one of my favorites, but all of them are pretty cool, and other people might like the other soundtracks more. It's a great song, and I quite like the harmony mixed with the rhythmic tone and bits of lute.

This page has the entire soundtrack on loop if you answer the numbered poll thing at the top, if you're interested. Almost (some of the tracks are just weird voice lines and stuff, just ignore them) all of the music is pretty damn great.
