Okay, so I don't have the specifics, we'll need to get Seanbot in here for more detail, but something's happened to Ben.
Sean said (through Steam) that Ben's gotten in trouble with the law in some way, and that the FBI have confiscated all of his internet passwords or something to that effect - he's not in the chat anymore either.
I'm... kinda worried.
So, discussion? Clues?

If they have all his passwords, the spambots here might be FBI. That way they could get everyone on these forums arrested of insulting FBI people or something.

I don't know anything about what happened, but I doubt that "discussing" it here without actually knowing what exactly happened is going to help anyone.

Sean probably joined the chat while Ben was on an unregistered nick, or before the 'problem' actually happened, I have no idea. But Woody's off his nut, we talked about it on MSN. I'm suspecting it might have something to do with compromise of security, since Ben loves talking to foreigners...

But I agree with Clonks. Woody, calm down. This doesn't necessarily mean something as horrible.

If they confiscated all his passwords, that sounds like he became suspect of malicious hacking or copyright stuff... This often happens to open source people - it seems to be kind of a stupid prejudice.

I just hope that nothing worse happens to him and that we quickly hear what exactly occured...

I'm hoping I can get to the penguins soon, since I haven't been able to catch them in the chat recently, because chances are they have more answers.

Somehow I think that much concentrated chill would be bad for you. 250 mgs is the recommended dose for children and teens, and 500 mgs is the recommended dose for adults, whereas 1000 mgs is the recommended dose for those old guys who yell 'GET OFF MY LAWN'.

I'm pretty confident that I know exactly what this is about (assuming it's true), because I know what Ben is like and I know what the US government is like, and I was always suspicious that this would happen.
It has nothing to do with open sourcery (it's not quite so petty) or compromising security (it's not quite so exciting, either).

Anyway, it's sad...
