That does not detect whether there is an object blocking you from viewing something, like a wall. That is what I mean by line-of-sight.
I made everything like an outside module in the last revision so that I could test something. Probably, I will have to make th module ignore the vrt_a data entirely for outside modules.

Earlier reported bugs still happen when Alric is not there..
Maybe the Elf, but probably not G'nome.
Poop Loops wrote:You could also implement it as a skill for characters. Gnomes can see in the dark in many games, so you could have gnomes get that skill at some level, and then gradually increase its power or something. The effect could just be as simple as adding lighting, i.e. having a light source similar to a torch, but drop off smoother and not as bright at the center.

- revision 602 -
I cleaned up a couple files that had some garbage that I left in there from a test. It was preventing me from compiling on linux...
I am getting some odd graphics glitches on linux, like the top button on the first menu having the version text instead of saying "start new player"
However, I am getting a 38hz framerate instead of the 2Hz rate I have gotten in the past. That seems pretty good for a software rendered mesa driver... Maybe it is Ubuntu's new kernel?

So now there are only two serious bugs in the latest revision preventing the 2.7.4 release.
1. In-game menus seems to move very, very slowly.
2. Lightning doesn't work properly yet, everything is always light.
How far are we on progressing on this? I'm currently working on the Archmage module, but it still needs a lot of scripting and work before it's done.

The whole controls are completely broken with newest binary and svn...
Only one key with rumble pad works, besides moving ones, right hand attacking. Others do nothing.
And I tried with keyboard, and when I press up, first I drop the weapon I have. When I press again, it attacks, when third time, it picks the weapon up. Nothing else work than the moving keys right, left, and down...

Could you PLEASE post something more specific than this? Zefz changed the default controls. If they were not to your liking, did you try to change them through the controls menu?
[quote]Module linking is broken in 2.7.3 (2.7.3 has its own thread, this one is for svn rev 603) [/qoute]
I have not had a chance to test this. What have you tested?

...
I did say more specifically...
And I DID change them, and still the same thing.
I wouldn't have posted the bug if the controls were different...
EDIT:
okay, now I think I found out the cause of the bug. There's "Joystick A" and "Joystick B". Earlier there was "Joystick 0" and "Joystick 1". When I changed those, to the earlier ones, it works. But the camera rotating doesn't, even while it's in the right key where it should be.
Did someone disable the camera rotating or something?
