It could be me being stupid because i haven't played egoboo in quite a while, however the first door in the soldier starter, and the second door in the zombi starter are unpassable in the newest svn.
Good spotting. The latest SVN has a bugfix which makes passages marked as Closed upon spawn actually are closed! There may be places around the game where the detect passages (to detect characters who want to open a door) are marked as Closed (because this value did nothing before).
I have fixed those two and I'll upload the fix soon. Keep those bug reports coming
no problem, i just played the healer starter and discovered that two of the idols(one in the big room with 4 and the another in a small room with 2 idols) are unbreakable, and so the healer can't get a torch to open the last passages.
Yes I discovered that too. I am not sure why those Idols are unbreakable. I think it has something to do with the Tranches that are hidden inside that get killed when you try to attack the idols (and instead you kill the tranches inside).
Actually, everyone who ever made a proper map in Egoboo noticed this. Clonkinator even mentioned it to everyone while he was making his Benemo Cave module. It's just that we always used a workaround to "fix" the problem.
I have tried to do what zefz did in the past and it seemed to cause some bugs where certain doors would never open. But that was everywhere, including the gelfeet room in the advent starter.
