Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
The current SVN has problems with the new map loading code in Mac land (and possibly Linux as well)
Not able to debug it right now though.

The thing is that the mac code assumes you are using a motorolla-type chip on mac. If you're using an intel-type chip, most of the code that loads binary files will work properly.

Nevermind, didn't noticed you added the fix :/

Yes everything is supposed to be fast. Birdsey removed the FPS and UPS limit for debugging purposes (only the latter should effect game speed).
Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
After about 20 to 30 minutes of uninterrupted playing, Egoboo 2.6.8 crashes my system and gives me a bluescreen. Lately, absolutely all the good games I usually enjoy playing have started doing that. It's incredibly frustrating.

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
I'm guessing the blue-screen is not caused by Egoboo, but rather your system. (especially if other games have the same issue)
Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
Probably. Just thought I'd mention it.

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
I bet you it's the graphics card driver (do you have Catalyst 11.11 (8.911), released November 15? It might fix your issues)
...
Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
Nope, my current driver is ati2dvag.dll (version 6.14.0010.7230) from October 12. I always have severe trouble when it comes to updating drivers, so...
But I'll probably try that. That driver is for an ATI Radion HD 3600 Series, yes?

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
I went to AMD's website looking for ATI Radeon HD 3600 drivers and that was the one that popped up for PCI-E (there's a patch for it for AGP cards as well)

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
Are you referring to the chip type? Because in that case, my GFX card's chip type is AMD Radeon Graphics Processor AGP (0x9598). If I need a patch for the driver to work correctly, could you point me to where I can find it?

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
79 MB? Wow, that's a large patch.
Just to make sure that I'm not getting anything wrong (sorry for asking you so much), the download from the very page you linked is really just the patch? If so, in what order do I need to apply the driver and the patch? Or is the download there already the patched driver and I can just install it?

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
hmm, maybe it's not a patch, I think it's the driver itself plus the Catalyst and such.
Dunno where I got that it's a patch

Re: 2.8.x crash at startup
...nope, that didn't fix the problem. I got another bluescreen after 8 minutes of playing.
Thanks for your time anyway.
