So I've done the following under Lubuntu 14.04 (LTS):
-Downloaded Egoboo 2.8.1
-Installed as many dependencies as I could (read: not many)
-Found the packages (egoboo-data_2.8.1-1ubuntu2_all.deb and egoboo_2.8.1-1ubuntu2_i386.deb), and had them automagically installed after installing all dependencies without issue.
-Ran the game without issue.
Just now, I've had the following issues:
-Can't zoom in/out.
-Rotating the camera from its default causes things to disappear seemingly at random, though autorotation is fine.
-Up and Left controls always act as Down and Right controls, respectively, no matter what the controls themselves are bound to.
-The game crashes whenever I exit (i.e. the menu buttons slide left when I click Exit, but then the screen goes black and the game exits. When the game window has closed, I get a notification that the game didn't close down properly).

This has already been known, but it only affects the Mac and Linux versions and I don't know what causes it :|

1. I've found my backtrace.txt in the past, but I don't remember how to find it now.
2. I'll definitely consider installing the release client instead.

On a hunch, I decided to try playing with a joystick, and apparently the joystick got around the problem (plus, no graphical issues). I'll edit this post when I retest keyboard controls.

EDIT: Okay, so keyboard controls are still screwed.
EDIT 2: Just beat the Adventurer starter module, but Daggy is nowhere to be found. Any ideas?
