Fatal errors...
I downloaded egoboo a few months back and played it a few times. A few days ago I changed it to run in fullscreen then I exited the game and tried to restart it. When I tried restarting it it popped up with this message
"Egoboo has encountered a problem and is exiting. This is an error report: I can't get SDL to set any video mode."
I figured uninstalling it and redownloading would fix the problem, but it didn't and I still get the same error message. Help?

Re: Fatal errors...
First of all try the 2.9.0 RC1 release. It contains a few bugs (read further down that thread), but maybe it solves your problem: http://egoboo.sourceforge.net/phpBB3/vi ... f=4&t=1373
Make sure your video card supports OpenGL 3.0 or later because SDL will fail without it (giving your error message).

Re: Fatal errors...
Zefz, I don't believe you are correct about OGL version 3.0. The message about "I can't get SDL to set any video mode" is generated by egoboo if neither the requested mode nor the default mode work with your video card.
The best thing to do is to set take it out of fullscreen mode. Here are the steps:
The best thing to do is to set take it out of fullscreen mode. Here are the steps:
- Find the working version of your setup.txt:
- check "%AppData%\egoboo" first
- if that doesn't exist, use the file in the root directory of egoboo
- Once you find the correct file, change the fullscreen setting to [FULLSCREEN] : "FALSE"
Re: Fatal errors...
sorry, but how do check "%AppData%\egoboo"?

Go to your address bar, clear the folder names, and enter %AppData%/.egoboo
(Or is there no dot on Egoboo's? It's just standard format, I'd try with and without.)

Re: Fatal errors...
The only platform with the dot for Egoboo is currently Linux.
Windows: %AppData%\Egoboo
Mac: ~/Documents/Egoboo
Linux = ~/.egoboo-2.x

Thank you. It works again.
Re: Fatal errors...
So I beat the Rouge starting module, but now when I go to load a game It says "Please choose an input device to select your player". How do I do that?

Re: Fatal errors...
If this is Egoboo 2.8.1 or less, then you should be able to click on the keyboard/mouse/joystick icon beside your character to use that input device
