Could we have some system info? Your operating system, the contents of log.txt from your Egoboo folder, etc?

C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\egoboo\debug\log.txt
Is default I guess.
What version of egoboo?
..I guess the comp's just built for Vista but has XP.

Re: im having problem starting egoboo
Windows XP's start button actually says "Start", while Vista's is only a blue Windows logo.
Egoboo's userdata on XP is where 2222 said and on Vista is C:\Users\[user]\Application Data\Roaming\Egoboo (I'm pretty sure, may vary depending on the localization of the Windows)

You can reach the location of the log.txt by clicking the My Egoboo Stuff shortcut in the folder you installed Egoboo to.

Oh, yeah, because it'd be built for Vista or 7. You're probably right.

Re: im having problem starting egoboo
The data in your "My Egoboo Stuff" link may have been distributed improperly. Follow these steps to fix it:
If it does not, then the directory may not exist. Let us know if the repair works.
- Right click on the "My Egoboo Stuff" link and choose "Properties"
- This will open up a window called "My Egoboo Stuff Properties" with 2 tabs called "General" and "Shortcut".
- Switch to the "Shortcut" tab.
- Copy this text: "%AppData%\egoboo"
- Paste it into the text box marked "Target:"
- Click "OK".
If it does not, then the directory may not exist. Let us know if the repair works.

Re: im having problem starting egoboo
It seems that you do not have a valid video mode selected in your setup.txt file and it is crashing video.
The default settings should work if your desktop is not in a special video mode (like 8 or 16 bits), but you are having problems so you will have to edit the settings.txt file by hand.
If there is not a "settings.txt" file under your "My Egoboo Stuff" link, copy the one in the install directory to this folder. Then double click on it to open it in your text editor. Make sure to save or close after you make a change or egoboo will not recognize the change.
Possible change 1: Go to windowed mode instead of full screen. Change the text to read [FULLSCREEN] : "FALSE"
Do this and see if you can get egoboo to start. It is possible that we can't determine a valid fullscreen size for your computer.
Possible change 2: shut off the antialiasing. Change the text to read [TEXTURE_FILTERING] : "NONE"
Do this and see if you can get egoboo to start. It is possible that your video card does not like some OpenGL setting we are using.
Try these and get back to us.
