particle effects don't work very well in the module's favor, though it does have raindrops dropping on your head :P

Little note: raindrops are only generated close to your character...

Someone should go ahead and change it so that they spawn like the snow in the world map.

I did improve it a while ago so that the rain particles cover the whole screen and not just around the player. In addition, weather particles no longer spawn outside the map or inside walls.

The snow was handled pretty much the same, it would spawn particles if a player was nearby.

Dang, just noticed I forgot the little green lights for Num Lock and the power button on the computer. Oh well. :P
