Octy's art (?) corner
I decided to start this thread to have a place to put my artwork and stuff into.
I tried to make some digital artwork today.
I know the hands are not good, but blame my tabletlessness.

You should verse yourself in layers, it will move you forward a surprising distance. Multiplying layers and all that. It helps not have those antialiasing lines too.

I thought I would know about layers sufficiently from my mother...
but still... how does multiplying layers help to avoid antialiasing lines?
The lines exist because I didn't exactly adjust the size of the head lines with the head itself... the way I made those lines was a pain in the ass... I selected a circle, then I subtracted another smaller circle from the selection and filled the selection with black. And the selection happened to be ~2 pixels big.

Multiplying won't help you with the antialiasing, but having layers helps you fill shapes better, you can go under the lines on layers above it for the cleanest cut.

Want to take one of my .psd files to study? Pretty sure Gimp reads them, although whether it does the clipping masks I love to abuse I'm not sure.

Well it doesn't support layer 'folders', I know that from experience, but I'll upload one when I'm on my laptop.
