I myself like the good old sword best. It's strong, hits several enemies at the same time, isn't all that rare, not too expensive and it looks cool, especially if you also wear a shield in the other hand.
You should have started it with "Discuss thine preferred means of beast-slaying."
Anyway.
I guess I'll vote "specials." Not necessarily what I use the most, but I like the "flavor weapons."

Everyone might reconsider their tactics and favourite weapons next release. Every magic weapon might have their damage halved at minimum because of the strength bonus change.
Ditto with normal weapons.

Yeah, magic weapons were maybe a bit overpowered, generally, so that's good.

Swords, there good in just about any battle. And handy when fighting a group of enemies.

Too bad Healers and G'nomes can't use them, but it's part of their personality.

Mostly because unlike the other maces its damage particle is huge and can still hit multiple enemies almost as good as a sword.

Two words: Gatalin Gonne. Best G'nomish weapon ever. Fire at anything and it dies.

I tried the Minigonne and it's really cool.
It seems balanced well enough.
The only problem I saw with it was that it makes the firing sound when you drop it...
