Taking modelling requests!

Post by Maxaxle »

A week or so ago, I figured out how to model with the Quake modeller. If you need something simple modelled (NOT animated, for the time being), just ask.

Flail.
Done and done.

(Hint: Use the Spike Mace for starters.)

Try mimicking the way the whip did it. Or plain copy-paste it if you feel like it. Of course, some animating is necessary, but someone will do that eventually. Probably me. :P

Actually, animating is far easier than making new models (not copying and modifying, mind you) once you learn the tricks.

I was pondering once how a flail might be pulled off, and I think several six-sided polygons (tetrahedrons connected where one of the faces would have been) would probably work pretty well for the segments. I may have even started that at one point, but I probably didn't get too far before I moved on to other things...
I've always thought the whip was one of the weaker models; I'd kind of like to see it replaced with something a bit better... Why can't it be less flat? I think that's another thing I may have started once. I was definitely seriously considering doing it once. It could be pulled off somewhat easily.
Another weak model is the bow; it's not clear what it is when it isn't drawn back because it's so straight-looking.

I was thinking you could use particles for the chain like the Iron Ball.

That's very, very complicated.

Plus the chain on the iron ball always stays on the ground... It'd be even more complicated lining them up in the air.

@Zefz: Oh.
:P
@Purple: Well you could just drag it along the ground until you swung it, at which point... yeah.
