I went through Griffin f***ing Tower as a level 3 Wizard with nothing but a Whip to begin with. Died only once, when I fought Bargel. Screw you and your inability to kick some ass.

Whips don't count, those are pretty broken to begin with. :teach:

Actually it was more like Hit, swerve to the left, hit, swerve to the left some more, hit, run, make the guards kill it.

Poll says Wizard and Elf are still the favourite! :P

Meaning we have to make Rogue and G'nomes more interesting? I already think last few updates added new features to the rogue (instant kill backstabs, stealth) and new toys for the G'nome which should make them more interesting.

Oh and I heard something about spears cutting a scorpion claw? Nono, that must be fixed!

No, the thing was that I let my elf take a sword instead of a spear IN ORDER TO cut the scorpion's claws. The spear still just deals poke damage, don't worry.
The G'nome is a rather interesting class, but his skills are a bit specific and you have to wait an extremely long time until you can get those "toys". Wasn't there a plan to make a Highspire module? That would be kind of useful for the G'nome's popularity.
The rogue is in fact my second favourite class, but he plays a bit strange alone. The stealth does hardly ever work, the Trogs for instance always notice my rogue. He has wonderful skills, but there are too few enemies backstabbable in current state, and his starter module really requires patience because the Iron Ball's slowdown effect is a bit too extreme (either it must be reduced or the chain should be a bit longer).

Pick it up. It makes you lose a hand, but you can use it for a weapon anyway.

Actually, I don't think there's anything wrong with the Rogue or the G'nome; I think they're good classes, and as far as I know, others like them as well. They're just no-one's most favourite class. :o
Also, I guess part of the reason for why the rogue is no-one's most favourite class is that he's got quite some trouble getting through the sand palace alone; he doesn't have access to any decent bash or fire weapons before that and takes massive damage to his rather low health from the tranches' poke attacks; you have to be really good at dodging them or downright skip them altogether, but even then there's still the sand troll and the scorpion to deal with. The sand troll is beatable with a whip and the rogue's bare fists, and the scorpion's beatable with the wand of lightning, but the whole module isn't exactly easy to beat with a rogue.
The rogue's much better in the water, fire and ice palaces though.

Slows you down almost as much as when you just drag it along with you. Ain't worth it.

It makes you extremely slow. If you drop it, you can move with normal speed in a very limited range. But if you pick it up (when I solved the Rogue Starter, I did it), you are slowed down almost as much as you prefer pulling it behind you. But in general, the iron ball is a great idea.
[EDIT]: I read now that Clonkinator wrote almost the same thing... including the "almost as much" term... :)

Well, I think adventurer is the best character. It has Health and Mana very balanced, can use a large variety of spells and strong ones, but I have only done the starter module with all the others that yoiu can do in the begginning(including gnome) and I'm a t level 9 only.

Well, you can't become much better if you already are the best character, so why wait? :P
