...But since Egoboo doesn't work for me... I couldn't even test this sorta thing if it was made! (sorry for the kinda off-topic, lol)

What if you're given another items instead of a wallet, like a luxurious pendant, ring or necklace that shines and that stuff, just to call the attention of thieves. Then this guy should take it from you and run away, thus you should catch him. By the way, hello to everyone.

Maybe something like that but it has glue or sticky tape on it and the thief gets stuck to you and you turn him in.
